Demand real action on Crime

Toronto feels less safe. From high-profile home invasions to violence on the TTC and dangerous needles in playgrounds, the trend is moving in the wrong direction. A decade of half-measures have failed. It’s time for real action on crime in Toronto.

We are calling for bigger investments in putting Visible Police Where They Matter Most:

  • Dedicated TTC patrol units during rush hours and during major events at major transfer hubs, and rotating patrols in known problem areas.
  • Increased foot patrols in high-traffic public areas such as around Union Stations, Yonge–Dundas, Queen & Spadina, Harbourfront, the Danforth, and Parkdale.
  • Expanded park patrol units to keep community spaces safe. Parks are the backyards for those who don’t have them. Torontonians need safe and clean parks.
  • Massive expansion of new police hires to staff these targeted patrols and to bolster the ranks of the main force to reduce response times. Toronto’s police-to-citizen ratio is the lowest of any major city in Canada.
