Toronto’s parks and playgrounds should be clean safe spaces for families and children. As the summer has started, they are being treated like garbage dumps. Wrappers, broken toys, clothing are all being left behind. This behaviour is unacceptable and today, A Better City Toronto is calling on the city to:
- Send bylaw officers to parks and playgrounds during the day to act as a deterrent to people who are littering, and when they see people littering, give them a ticket.
- The city must send overnight crews to clean up the mess that is left so that kids who come to these public spaces first thing in the morning have a clean and safe place to play.
