Police must notify parents when children are threatened

A registered sex offender was arrested for following and approaching children in the Junction. This monster served time in jail for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a nine-year-old boy. He was on parole living in a half-way house in the Junction when he started following and approaching children in February and March.

The corrections service did not notify the Toronto Police that he was living in the area. To make matters worse, after he tried to lure children to follow him on February 13th, the Toronto Police did not notify the community that there was someone approaching children. He then tried again to lure more children in March, and again there was no notification to parents in the area. Thankfully, he was arrested before he could harm anyone.

We demand that the corrections service give notice of all sex offenders on parole in Toronto to the Toronto Police. We also demand that the Toronto Police notify parents if someone is approaching children in their neighbourhood.
